some anniversary

It's 10-year anniversary(?) of my appendectomy inً Sri Lanka. I never expected that I would have my first open surgery in a foreign country, even without my family there. But it turned out to be good and unique experiences.

Dr. Jayendra Fernando was a great surgeon who left thin scar on me, even though it was not laparoscopic surgery. When I came back to Korea I went to the hospital to check up, Korean doctor was quite surprised after he saw my fine line scar. That doctor even called a nurse to show her my scar :o "Look at this! It's awesome!"


And, my students and Korean friends in Lanka helped me recover from surgery. I still remember many faces I met on my bedside in hospital, and some friends who cooked meal(반찬🤩) for me in my house... I'm eternally grateful for that. What made me more happy 😂 was, I didn't have to pay anything then. Korean government covered all the expenses. Haha.

After 10 years... this still remains one of the most unique experiences in my life.
